Sponsorship of New Projects - Lahore

According to estimates, every year approximately 150,000 patients fall victim to cancer in Pakistan. SKMCH & RC being the only specialized cancer centre in the entire region with all the cancer diagnostic & therapeutic facilities under one roof, is constantly pressurized to meet the growing needs. However, our current capacity allows us to accept only a fraction of these patients. This clinical tower will not only double our patient capacity but also include a number of additional specialized units like a fully-equipped Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and custom made Pediatric Unit. By contributing in this venture you will enable us to extend state-of-the-art treatment facilities to more and more cancer patients.

Sponsorship of New Projects - Karachi

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust has identified the need to enhance its presence in different parts of Pakistan to respond to increasing challenges posed by growing patient volumes. The construction of the Shaukat Khanum Diagnostic Centre and Clinic in Karachi in 2007 was in line with this vision. It is a three-story facility spread over an area of 2,275 sq. yards, in Phase VII Extension of DHA, Karachi. This is designed to offer day-care chemotherapy treatment facilities to patients from this region. The Chemotherapy Bay in Karachi is staffed with fully qualified professionals and operates to the very high standards which people have come to expect from the Shaukat Khanum Healthcare System. SKMCH&RC, supported by its well-wishers who believe in the value of life, will continue to provide financially supported treatment to the poor cancer patients in Karachi, just as it does in Lahore.

Sponsorship of New Projects - Peshawar

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust aims to develop a series of small hospitals in selected cities of Pakistan to be able to provide state-of-the-art cancer diagnostic and therapeutic facilities irrespective of the ability to pay. The award of land for a hospital in Peshawar to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust represents a unique opportunity for us to expand the footprint of the Hospital in a relatively low cost and speedy manner. The first of a series of hospitals will be in the provincial capital Peshawar. Initially, these will function principally as chemotherapy delivery units with a set of minimal but essential associated ancillary facilities. In the long-term, each facility will have the potential to be scaled up to a full cancer hospital.

In line with the mission statement, SKMCH & RC strives to remain at the cutting edge of technology to be able to provide the highest quality care to patients. The advent of PET-CT imaging has revolutionized the management of cancer and is, today, considered essential for the diagnosis and treatment of many forms of cancer. SKMCH&RC has installed Pakistan’s 1st PET CT Scanning System at the Hospital in Lahore on February 7, 2010. Now with the installaion of our second state-of-the-art PET CT scanner at Shuakat Khanum Diagnostic Centre and Clinic in Karachi, Shuakat Khanum Memorial Caner Hospital and Research Centre has become the first institution to offer the service in Karachi.
 
The Hospital aims to acquire more medical equipment during this year and hence keep abreast with some of the best cancer centres of the world.
