14 Year Celebrations of SKMCH&RC

The children of the Tigers Club of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre organized 14th birthday party of the Hospital on February 10, 2009. Nearly 500 students from 35 schools of Lahore including (Beaconhouse School System, LGS, Aitchison College, LACAS, Al-Ala, Learning Alliance, Pepperdine, Johar Foundation, Bloomfield Hall, Fauji Foundation, City School, Qurbani High School, Reliance School System, The Heights School, The Punjab School and Lahore Lyceum) attended the colourful event.

Mani & Azfar hosted the event and rejuvenated the spirit of the Tigers Club as they too had once been Tigers when the Hospital was created. The cured cancer patients presented the inspirational Hospital song and showed that cancer could be defeated with treatment, will power and support.

Mrs. Sajida Vandal, Ex-principal of NCA presented the shields to the winners of the Birthday Card Competition that had been arranged last month. Other than that a lucky draw was held. Students from various schools presented inspirational songs that they had especially prepared for the event.

The Chief Executive Officer, SKMCH thanked the students for attending the event and hoped that they would continue to work with the Hospital with zeal and enthusiasm. He said that the Hospital had aligned a whole range of activities but this was a club of the students hence they should suggest ideas to make it a success.

The children were dazzled by Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal, prominent stars of our national cricket team who gave guest appearances at the event. They appreciated the spirit and enthusiasm of the children shown for a noble cause.
