| The department of Nuclear Medicine at SKMCH&RC is recognized by the College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan for the full four years of FCPS II training. Training
and research facilities are also offered to M.Sc. (Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics)
fellows from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS University)
and to M.Sc. (Physics) students from the University of Punjab, Lahore. |

| The Nuclear Medicine department offers a variety of procedures for the diagnosis and staging
of different cancers, including static, dynamic, whole body and tomography studies,
radionuclide therapy for thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism, and palliative treatment for
bone pain.

| The department is equipped with state-of-the-art Gamma Cameras. A hot lab and
monitoring system commensurate with international standards and a dedicated area
for radionuclide therapy are also operational. |
| The department is headed by a full time consultant nuclear physician, a medical
physicist, a radio pharmacist, nuclear medicine house staff and a team of residents
and qualified technologists. |
