| Radiation therapy is an integral
part of cancer treatment and is
used in both curative and
palliative settings. |
| At SKMCH&RC,
state-of-the-art radiotherapy is
applied with facilities
available for interstitial and
intracavitary procedures. A
newly installed linear
accelerator ensures radiation
treatment can be delivered with
increased precision.
Additionally, the department is
equipped with a Cobalt-60
machine, a simulator and
3-dimensional planning system
and facilities for brachytherapy. |
| The department is staffed by full-time consultant radiation oncologists, fully trained radiation oncology technologists, medical physicists, radiation nurses and radiation oncology house staff. |
