Medical Officer (Emergency Room), Internal Medicine

A dedicated Medical Officer is required to assist and manage acute medical emergencies presenting to the SKMCH & RC. The ideal candidate must be willing to give long-term commitment to the hospital and should:

Eligibility Criteria:
  • MBBS (should have passed all professional examinations at 1st attempt obtaining at least 59% marks in Final Professional).
  • Should have completed one-year house job (further experience is desirable).
  • Willing and able to take on increasing responsibility with time.
  • Computer literacy and good communication skills are essential.
  • Have experience in Medical Oncology and further training as casualty medical officer would be an advantage.
  • Be able to perform a good clinical exam, obtain IV access (Peripheral and central), perform thoraccentesis, paracentesis, lumber puncture, ECG, CPR, Foley’s catheterization, Nasogastric and endotracheal intubations etc.

Medical Officer, Infection Control

Job Summary:
  • Provide surveillance throughout the hospital for infection control purposes. Working in a clinical environment must ensure to understand and follow the infection control policies, procedures and best practice applicable within the hospital. In order to do so must;
  • Observe all infection control policies and practices relevant to the post.
  • Act as a role model to others regarding infection control best practice.
  • Ensure to keep up to date and attend all relevant training relating to infection control issues applicable to the post.
  • Ensure that patients, visitors and contractors are aware of and follow infection control best practice (where applicable).
  • Report non-compliance or concerns regarding infection control issue/best practice to line manager.
Job Specifications:
  • MBBS (should have passed all professional examinations in 1st attempt obtaining at least 59% marks in Final Professional).
  • Should have completed one-year house job (6 months in medicine and 6 months in surgery). Further medical experience is desirable.
  • Required to be computer literate.
Work Experience:
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for Infection Control program.
  • Experience of clinical audit will be preferred.
  • Experience in teaching/training in infection control will be preferred

  • Willing and able to take on increasing responsibility with time.
  • Computer literacy and good communication skills are essential.
