Imran Khan Goes Home (May 22, 2013)

We are pleased to announce that this morning, Mr. Imran Khan was discharged home from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Imran walked from his room on the third floor of the Hospital to the exit on the ground floor, unaided. As previously explained, Imran will continue to receive regular physiotherapy and will need to wear a spinal support for some weeks to come. Imran will gradually increase physical activity over the next few weeks with a return to his full functional capacity expected in approximately six to eight weeks. 

While leaving, Imran thanked all his friends, well-wishers and the millions of individuals all over the world who had offered their sympathy, prayers and support throughout his illness. 

The entire staff of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre wishes Imran a speedy recovery and all the best for the future.

Director of Nursing (DON)

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is looking for an experienced, committed and professionally ambitious individual to take on position of the Director of Nursing. The individual will be expected to provide strategic planning for Nursing Care and Nursing Education and will be responsible for the administration of nursing care, and for providing leadership to nursing personnel in the hospital. The candidate will be a key participant in the quality assurance endeavors in the hospital.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Registered nurse from a recognized national or international body.
  • Relevant administrative qualification or experience.
  • More than 8 years of senior management experience.
  • Comprehensive nursing experience preferably in the area of nursing oncology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have excellent leadership and administrative skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective decision making skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

 

Registered Nurses

Nursing Division of SKMCH&RC is looking for healthy, energetic and professionally ambitious individuals (Minimum age 20 years). Who wish to develop their career in Oncology Nursing.

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum Academic Qualification:

  1. Matriculate with Science Subjects (Minimum 55%).


For Females:
Professional Qualification:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Minimum GPA 2.5) from an accredited Nursing Educational Institution / University approved by Pakistan Nursing Council / HEC.   
    OR
  2. Diploma in General Nursing (Minimum 55%) from an accredited Nursing Educational Institution (approved by Pakistan Nursing Council).
  3. Diploma in Midwifery (Minimum 55%) from an accredited Nursing Educational Institution approved by Pakistan Nursing Council.


For Males:

Professional Qualification:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Minimum GPA 2.5) from an accredited Nursing Educational Institution / University approved by Pakistan Nursing Council / HEC.   
    OR
  2. Diploma in General Nursing (Minimum 55%) from an accredited Nursing Educational Institution (approved by Pakistan Nursing Council).
  3. One Year Post R/N working experience is essential. Please note that experience recognized by SKMCH & RC would be of Internationally recognized and of Hospitals recognized by PMDC.


Current License:

  1. Current registration with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).
