Shaukat Khanum Social Responsibility Awards 2011

 

 

In an effort to recognize the support of organizations during the year 2010 and share the impact that organized philanthropy has on the society, the management of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital &  Research Centre has introduced the annual Shaukat Khanum Social Responsibility Awards.

In this connection, the first ceremony was organized at the Hospital on April 30, 2011.
 
Atiqa Odho, famous TV artist and an active social figure hosted the event and Reema Khan who is the ambassador of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, was the special guest on that occasion.

While talking to the audience, nationally acclaimed columnist and journalist Hassan Nisar appreciated the role of SKMCH&RC in the healthcare sector and said that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is a 'Taj Mahal' that is symbolic of hope for life.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, shared the achievements, budget and future plans of the Hospital, with the audience on this occasion. He acknowledged the support of responsible organizations in enabling SKMCH&RC to treat the poor and hoped they would continue to support the Hospital in the future as well. Dr. Faisal distributed shields to the top supporting organizations of the year 2010 i.e. Pepsi Cola International (Pvt) Ltd, World Call Telecom (Pvt) Ltd, Metora Digionics (Pvt) Ltd, English Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd, Telenor Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. and Indus Motor Company Ltd. The representatives of these organizations appreciated the efforts of the Hospital in providing free treatment to poor cancer patients and pledged to continue their support.

Other organizations like Chevron, ChenOne, Stoneage, and Service Sales Corporation also announced their support and cooperation for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital &Research Centre in the coming year.
