SUCCESS STORY
| Jamshed Zaidi is a seventeen year old boy. He was twelve when he
first visited Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in September
1996. He had complaints of low grade fever associated with vomiting and
pain in joints and back for eleven month.
His initial investigations at a local hospital in Lahore revealed lymph
nodes in the abdomen. Jamshed was diagnosed to be suffering from
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Stage III) at SKMCH&RC his treatment continued
until January 1998 during which he received six cycles of chemotherapy
and radiation therapy. Now four years later he is free of disease.
| Jamshed is an enthusiastic member of the Sunehri Kiran Club for
teenage patients. He intends to volunteer for the hospital in its fight
against cancer in return for love, affection and care he received
during his treatment.
Jamshed is a student of ICS (Intermediate Computer Sciences) at a local
college with special interest in mathematics and computer sciences. He
plans to complete his higher education in software engineering from
abroad.
