SUCCESS STORY
| Sidra Arif, a six year old cute little girl came to Shaukat Khanum
Hospital in March 1999. she was severely malnourished and had pain in
her joints. Before coming to us she had undergone some tests at a local
hospital according to which she was told to be suffering some serious
disease.
At Shaukat Khanum Hospital she was investigated thoroughly for her
illness and was diagnosed to have blood cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic
Leukemia). Immediately after the completion of the first phase of her
treatment, it was found that she had responded extremely well to the
therapy and her disease was in complete remission. After two years of
intensive treatment, which ended in 2001, she was absolutely
disease-free. Now, for the last fourteen months, she is on follow-up
with no sings of disease. Sidra will be joining school.
