SUCCESS STORY
| 5-Year old Nida Anum reported to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer
Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) in 1996 with complaints of
pain in both legs. The intensity of the pain reached a point where she
was unable to walk and became progressively weaker.
Investigations carried out at the Hospital confirmed the diagnosis of
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Supportive therapy was immediately
administered to improve Anum’s nutritional status so that she could
bear the extensive treatment of her disease. | During treatment Nida experienced relapses and remissions, but finally, a year ago she was pronounced disease-free. Currently, she is on follow-up.
We all wish her a healthy, prosperous and fulfilling life.
