SUCCESS STORY
| Muhammad Kamran was five years old when he was first referred to
Shaukat Khanum Hospital in September 1995. His parents brought him in
for evaluation because of fever and increasing pallor. Doctors in his
hometown were unable to diagnose the problem. During this time, he had
also developed an eye infection and his condition continued to
deteriorate despite treatment with antibiotics.
At SKMCH&RC, further testing was carried out and Kamran was found
to have acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) which is a type of blood
cancer. For the next three years, Kamran had to undergo intensive
chemotherapy and related treatment.
| Now, eight years after he was first admitted, Kamran is a healthy boy, studying in class 5 at a school in Kot Addu. We at Shaukat Khanum Hospital wish Kamran the very best for the future.
